Description

These Harry Potter-inspired Pumpkin Pasties are warm, flaky hand pies filled with sweet pumpkin spice filling. Perfect for fall, Halloween, or any Potter-themed gathering, they’re quick, cozy, and utterly magical.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 4 TBS brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts (room temperature)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 TBS granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
  3. Roll out pie crusts and cut into circles using a 3–4 inch cutter or glass.
  4. Place circles on the baking sheet.
  5. Add 1 heaping TBS of filling to each circle.
  6. Fold over and seal edges with a fork.
  7. Cut a lightning bolt on top with a knife.
  8. Whisk the egg with 1 tsp water and brush each pasty.
  9. Sprinkle with sugar.
  10. Bake for 5–6 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly before serving.


Notes

  • Use high-quality pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix).
  • To make vegan, use plant-based crust and a maple glaze instead of egg wash.
  • Can be frozen before baking.
